Ann Garvey passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11th. Ann’s faith played a significant role in her life. She was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Parish. Her involvement went beyond attending daily Mass and volunteering her time as a eucharistic minister and lector. She loved decorating the church and working at the rectory. Years ago, she organized and ran the church’s weekly bingo games.
She was kind, outgoing, adventurous, funny, selfless and had a beautiful magnetic smile. She had boundless energy and determination.
She was long time volunteer at Leonard Morse Hospital.
Ann was born in Watertown, Ma the only daughter of Anna and James Phillips. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Garvey. Devoted mother of James Garvey and his partner Ann Jones of Laconia, NH, Mary McEleney of Natick, Daniel Garvey Jr. and his partner Laura Fiore of Kingston, Michael Garvey, and his wife Susan of Harrison, ME, Peter Garvey, and his wife Joan of Littleton. Loving grandmother of Kristen Hushka and her husband Drew, Jaclyn Alton and her husband William, Patrick Garvey, Thomas Garvey, Daniel Gilbert-Garvey, and his wife Kendra, Kirbie Garvey and Christopher Garvey. Great grandmother of Lucas and Ethan Hushka. She was predeceased by her siblings James, Francis, and John.
She worked at Raytheon where she met and later married Daniel in July 1953. They had thirty-eight wonderful loving years together.
Ann was the recipient of the Archdiocese of Boston Cheverus Medal in 2012.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street NATICK COMMON on Wednesday March 20th at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church 44 East Central Street (Rt. 135) Natick at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick. Visiting Hours on Tuesday March 19th from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
