Agnes (Blute) Showstead

Agnes Showstead (Blute) born March 30, 1923, passed away peacefully and painlessly with her beloved granddaughter Kristy by her side on November 1st. One of the nicest ladies you could ever meet, Agnes touched the lives of many people during her astounding 99 years of life, and all who knew her will miss her dearly.

Born in Boston and raised in Waltham, she resided in Natick for the past 56 years. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Robert Showstead and her first born son Carl. She leaves behind Diane Rossetsky and her husband Robert of Norwood, Arthur Showstead and Robert Showstead both of Natick; her grandchildren Jason Hartling, Kristy Burns, Chris Showstead and Kim Showstead; greatgrandchildren Hailey, Dominick, Jayden, Owen, Emelia, and Alivia.

While raising her children Agnes worked at Natick High School in the teachers lounge where she was beloved by all. When she wasn't working Agnes enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family on vacations to the Cape, hosting card games (complete with green felt tablecloth), winning at Yahtzee and playing bingo with friends.

It was a rare sight to see Agnes without a cup of black coffee and a sweet treat, please enjoy both today and think of her.

A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring of 2023.
