Anthony Charest, affectionately known as “Grumpy” by his grandchildren passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024 at the age of 81. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Jeanne, their two daughters, Lori Sayers (husband Matt) and Paula Fleming (husband Scott) and his three grandchildren, Sabrina, Ryan and Kathryn. Pre-deceased by his son Michael.
Tony, a lifelong resident of Natick, was a fixture in the community. He spent his career as a foreman for the Newton DPW, where he was known for his dedication and hard work
But it was his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather that truly defined him.
He was a man of simple pleasures. He never left the house without giving his wife a kiss, and he always showed up for tea time. In his retirement, he could often be found crossing the kids at St. Linus, a testament to his kind and generous spirit.
He was a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren unconditionally. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He used to love cruising around on his Harley in his younger days, but eventually traded it in for a more comfortable Studebaker.
