Barbara A. (Anderson) Johnson

Barbara A. (Anderson) Johnson, age 87 of Natick, passed away peacefully Tuesday October 19, 2021.

Daughter of the late Marguerite (O’Brien) and Arthur Anderson.  Beloved wife of the late August (Pete) Johnson, Jr.  Devoted mother of Debra Gibbs and husband Mark of Douglas, Scott Johnson and wife Nikki of Natick, Toby Johnson and wife Danielle of Franklin, and Heidi Johnson and husband Michael of Webster.  Sister of Linda Crowell of Winthrop, and the late Theresa Foley and Evelyn McInerney.  Proud grandmother of Andrew, Jessica, Arianna, Tyler, Isabella, and great-grandmother of Hadley.

Barbara grew up in Dorchester with her 3 sisters.   She attended Dorchester public schools and, afterwards, enrolled in office administrative classes at Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.   She found the love of her life, Pete, in 1955 and they married in 1957.  While they first settled down in Randolph after getting married, they moved to Millis in 1959 where they raised their 4 children.   Barbara worked for many years at Leonard Morse Hospital as a medical records transcriptionist.  She loved her countless pets over the years and enjoyed visits with family and friends.   She lived in Millis until 2019.   In her last years, she lived at Whitney Place in Natick and was under the loving care of the staff and hospice workers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., Natick, MA (at Natick Common) on Saturday October 30, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM, prior to the memorial service at 11:00 AM.
