Barbara A. Peoples, 78, of Natick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Born in Boston, MA on September 10, 1947, she was the beloved daughter of Francis and Elise (Grady) Welch.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Samuel L. Peoples, III of Natick. She was the loving mother to Kevin Peoples and his wife Michele, of Shelburne, VT, and Scott Peoples and his wife Chelsea, of Princeton, MA. Beloved sister of Ginny Tomasetti and Patti White, both of Natick, and Frank Welch, of Huntington Beach, CA. Loving grandmother of Ryan, Corey, Samuel and Benjamin, and she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a caring and devoted friend to all who knew her and had abundant energy for helping others and getting involved in the greater Natick community.
Barbara was a woman of devout faith and was very active in St. Patrick’s Church in Natick, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Barbara also served in a number of volunteer positions including President of St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Director of the Brack Career Center of the Natick Service Council, and well as numerous volunteer roles in the Natick Public Schools.
She spent most of her working years as a career counselor, serving as Associate Director / Pre-Law Advisor of the Career Center at Wellesley College, a career consultant at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Interim Director of the Career Development Center at Brown University.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 9:00 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment at Dell Park Cemetery in Natick. Visiting Hours in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
