In loving memory of Brent William Gilman
December 19, 1946 – September 30, 2025
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Brent William Gilman, a devoted husband, loving Father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend who left us peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 30, 2025, at the age of 78.
He was a Coast Guard veteran and went on to become a proud Lieutenant of the Natick Fire Department. Brent dedicated his life to service, courage, and community. His strength and compassion shone through in everything he did – whether answering the call of duty or lending a helping hand to a neighbor.
Brent was a man who thrived in the great outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, kayaking, sailing and hiking through the woods with his loyal dog Missy by his side. He was also a talented craftsman, often found immersed in woodworking projects or out in the yard, carefully tending to his landscaping, taking pride in every blade of grass and blooming flower.
His love story began on the sands of White Horse Beach, where he met the love of his life Jeannie. That serendipitous moment led to 58 beautiful years of marriage, full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Family was everything to Brent. He treasured their camping vacations, adventures to Myrtle Beach and Vieques, Puerto Rico, along with countless gatherings at the home he loved, where stories were shared, meals enjoyed and love always abundant. Brent was always the life of the party with his uncanny sense of humor. His presence was the steady heart of every occasion.
Brent leaves behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, deep loyalty, and unwavering love.
He was son to the late William Henry and Catherine Frances (Nugent) Gilman. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean (King) Gilman and recued companion Missy. Devoted father of Leah Leuthauser and her late husband John of NC, Michelle Lorenzo and her husband Jamie of Millville, Denise Oakes and her husband Gary of Medway. Loving grandfather of Anthony, Jeremy, Laiken, Joshua, James, Ryan, and great grandfather of Nicholas. Cherished brother of Carolyn Geraneo and her late husband Stephen of Hudson. Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews, and an amazing friend to All.
