Brian Barbieri Obituary

Brian N. Barbieri, age 61, of Groton, MA, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 27, 2024.  Brian grew up in Natick, MA, and after graduating from Natick High School, he attended Minute Man Regional Vocational Technical school in Lexington.  Brian was a gifted mechanic and welder.  He was known for his skill, craftsmanship, and ability to fix or weld any project that was brought to him.  Brian worked for the Weston DPW for 28 years and then the Groton DPW for 10 years.  He had retired one year ago.  Brian planned to spend his time completing his numerous home, vehicle, and boat projects, as well as spending more time with his beloved dog, Charlie, and his cats, Buddy and Harry.  Brian loved to bring his dog to Lost Lake and let Charlie play in the water, catching and releasing Sunfish.  He also bought special bread every week and fed the swans on Lost Lake.  Brian had a loyal “following” of large adult and juvenile swans.  He loved to photograph the swans as well as the beautiful sunsets on the lake.  Brian was known for his big heart and kind nature and will be greatly missed by his many friends and former co-workers.

Brian was pre-deceased by his cherished brother Anthony Barbieri, and his father Harold Barbieri.  Brian leaves behind his mother Patricia (McNeil) and youngest brother Joseph, of Natick; his older sister Jo-Ann (Barbieri) Theriault and her husband André of Greenland, NH; and his Godmother Kathy Breen of Hull, MA.

Visiting Hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street NATICK COMMON on Saturday December 14th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, followed by a Prayer Service at 12:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brian may be made to MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.  For directions and guest book please visit www.everettfuneral.com
