Dolores G. (Freialdenhofen) Checani

Dolores Checani, (Freialdenhofen), 91, of Natick, MA, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

She was the wife of the late Robert Harry Checani.

Born in Ford City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Regina (Wintgens) Freialdenhofen.

Dolores graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University with a degree in nutrition and joined the US Public Health Service, working as a dietician at hospitals in San Francisco, New York and Boston. Subsequently she worked as a dietician at local nursing homes for 30 years, retiring in 1997.  Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family, pursued physical fitness and was a master bridge player.

She is survived by sons, Eric Checani of Natick and Gregg Checani of Palm Springs, CA; three daughters, Carolyn Collins and her husband John of Natick, Kristen Checani-Howell of Framingham, and Leslie Fitzpatrick and her husband Glen of Natick and five grandchildren, Matthew, Dillan, Michael, Kelly, and Robert.  She was also the grandmother of the late Mitchell.

Visiting hours will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON, of Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 8:30-9:30AM.  Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St., Natick, at 10AM.  Interment will take place in Dell Park Cemetery, Pond St., Natick.
