Francis “Franny” Bardellini, 79, of Natick, MA, passed away on July 20, 2024. Beloved husband of Julie Anne (Eden) Bardellini for 47 years, he passed away peacefully at home with Julie by his side.
Born in Natick, MA, he was the son of the late Francis P. and Matilda (Kadlik) Bardellini and predeceased by his eldest daughter, Jennie Bardellini. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, David F. Bardellini and his wife Emily of Newton, MA, daughter Elizabeth A. Bardellini of Natick, MA, two brothers, Robert Bardellini of Northboro, MA, and Joseph Bardellini of Holliston, MA, a sister, Carol Irwin of Natick, MA, two grandchildren, Summer DiCarlo and Camden Bardellini and many nieces and nephews.
Franny started his 45+ career in the restaurant business at Mr. Hamburg on Rt. 9 in Framingham. He spent many years running the kitchen at the Villa in Wayland and also worked as a manager at the Old Salt in Southborough. He later owned two iconic Natick restaurants: Julianna’s and Franny’s Place. He made countless friends from the customers to the vendors and touched the lives of so many people during those years. He was extremely proud of his businesses and had a work ethic like no other.
Franny was dedicated to his hometown and his alma mater, Natick High School. He spent many hours overseeing the snack shack for Pop Warner to working the chains on the field at the high school football games. He served as President of the Friends of Natick Football, hosted multiple fundraisers at his restaurants and took a great deal of pride when catering sports banquets. Franny loved being able to give back to the community where he grew up and lived for his whole life.
Franny was a person who was always on the go, always finding creative ways to make things work. He never let his physical ailments get in the way of whatever task he wanted to do, particularly his yardwork. Franny was a person who made everyone laugh. He had a quick wit and the ability to find humor in life, no matter how hard the situation was. Franny was a natural jokester. He would constantly surprise his golf buddies with practical jokes on their annual trips to Cooperstown. He will always be remembered for his humor, loyalty, work ethic and love for his family.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4-7PM at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11AM in the funeral home, followed by the burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Franny Bardellini can be made to Boston Children’s Hospital, the American Heart Association or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
