Gary George Chandler, Sr, 72, of Ashland Ma, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on March 28, 2024 in Tampa, FL.
Survived by the great love of his life, Joan Moore and daughter Christina Chandler of Nashannock Pa, his son Gary George Chandler II, his daughter-in-law April Rose Chandler, and grandson Gary George Chandler III of Warren, MI; his dearest sister Darlene (Chandler) Wansiewicz (his “favorite”) of Framingham, MA, his brother (best friend) Jeffrey Chandler of Lunenburg, MA, his uncle Charles Sticka of Hartford CT, his aunt Shirley Sticka of Natick, MA., and his uncle Robert Sullivan and his wife Dorrie O’Day Sullivan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, countless cousins and friends.
Gary was born on March 4, 1952 to the late Ralph Parker Chandler Jr., and the late Dorothy Sticka Chandler.
Gary, known to many as “Yrag,” was a retired rigging foreman for O.B. Hill in Natick, Ma. He summered in Sabago Lake, ME with extended family, and spent winters in Naples FL with a loving community of retirees. He was a long-standing member of AMVETS Post 79 and loved to spend time there with good friends. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, boatsman, and loved going on epic rides through the countryside with friends and family in his truck. He was a lover of birds, seasons changing, and all things nature. He was a highly intelligent and gregarious man with a great sense of humor, who was loved by so many, in so many ways.
Funeral Services at Everett Funeral Home on May 10, 2024 from 10am - 12 pm. Interment following at Dell Park Cemetery, Natick.
