George "Greg" Carter Obituary

George “Greg” E. Carter, 92, of Dover, MA, passed away, Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Carlyle House in Framingham.

He was the husband of Mary “Maureen” E. (Murphy) Carter, who died on July 8, 2023.

Born in Natick, MA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Nora (Gibbons) Chiacchia.  He was also the brother of the late Richard Chiacchia of Natick, Leonard Chiacchia of Natick and Donald Chiacchia of Hopkinton.

Greg graduated from Harvard College and worked as a real estate developer and salesman in both MA and NY.  He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp, serving in Korea.  He enjoyed being physically active and prided himself in keeping physically fit.  He enjoyed running and golf. 

He is survived by two sons, Gregory W. Carter and his Life Partner Lisa of Miami, FL, and David S. Carter and his wife Carol of Scarborough, ME, a daughter, Andrea E. Zahnleuter and her husband Rick of Clifton Park, NY, six grandchildren, Chelsey, Gregory, Brittany, Mary Beth, Heidi and Molly, and several nieces and nephews.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick.  At the Family’s request, burial will be private.  Visiting hours are omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vi Tutuny Food Pantry, 2 Webster Street, Natick, MA 01760 where his wife Maureen was a volunteer for many years.
