Geraldine “Lene” Spriggs (Goodlow) October 20, 1948 – December 23, 2022

On December 23, 2022, Our Lord and Savior called our beloved Geraldine home.

Geraldine or “Lene” as she was called by her family was born in Wilson, Arkansas to Annie Mae (Williams) and Louis Goodlow Sr., on October 20, 1948.

Geraldine moved to Massachusetts after graduating high school and worked at the then named Bank of Boston until she started her Federal Career on December 11, 1983, at the Veterans Administration in Jamaica Plain. She worked for the VA until October 20, 1990, before transferring to the Massachusetts National Guard, working there for 32 years until her retirement on September 30, 2022.

Geraldine was an avid sports lover she enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.  She loved traveling and visiting light houses and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her Parents Louis and Annie Mae Goodlow, Sisters Willie Mae, and Viola, Brothers Louis Jr, Robert and Ernest, Her husband Edward, and her daughter Natasha.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Angela (Eric) Johnston, Michael (Desiree) Spriggs, and James Callahan along with her grandchildren Janae, Darius, Nicolas, Alexis, Kaylee, Jayden, Jordan, Darian, Chynna, Zaire, Davon, Kiana, and her great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Steven, and Lia. She is also survived by her sisters, Thelma Chestnutt, Earnestine Matthews, Ella Matthews, Annie Mae Breaker, Linda Alexander and her brothers Barry Goodlow and Jimmy Goodlow along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, NATICK COMMON, on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend.
