Gilda P. (Ciccone) Pallotta, 96, of Milford, MA, formerly of Natick, MA, passed away, Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Benchmark Senior Living at Forge Hill, Franklin, MA.
She was the wife of the late Angelo Ralph Pallotta. Before her passing Gilda and Ralph spent 59 years together raising their family.
Born in Newton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Cosmo and Vicenzina (Molino) Ciccone.
Growing up in Newton, Gilda spent many of her days on the tennis courts in town or at the Longwood Cricket Club (now Tennis Club) watching the great tennis players of the time as they traveled the tennis circuit, including her sister, Elena. Gilda was ranked in the juniors division in New England, travelling to many locations to play her favorite sport. Gilda instilled the love of sport to all her children. She was a true New England sports fan and tennis fan, with some kind of sporting event on TV, the Sox and Patriots
and when those were over the Tennis Channel.
She was a magnificent cook, having spent many years watching her mother cook for their large family. Food was her language of love, with Sunday dinners and holiday meals filling the senses with homemade sauce, pasta, meatballs or a roast beef and all the trimmings and cookies, pies and cakes. Homemade pizza and bread or cookies and brownies would fill the kitchen upon getting home from school.
She is survived by a son, Thomas Pallotta and his wife Cheryle of Holliston, MA, two daughters, Donna P. Wolf and her husband Edward of Milford, MA, and Nicole R. Lathrop and her husband Scott of Hopedale, MA, a sister, Martha Dunbar of Milford, MA, thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Ralph P. Pallotta, Lawrence M. Pallotta and Christopher M. Pallotta, and sister of the late Anthony Ciccone, Nicholas Ciccone, Regina Hurd, Elena Russell, Mary Androski, Valia Leone, Lydia Ciccone and Joanne Fettig.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 10AM-1PM in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, at 1PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Pond St., Natick. The family will host a luncheon after interment.
