Glenn Richard Strehlke, 68, of Grafton, Massachusetts, died on July 15, 2025 of kidney and heart failure at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Newton on January 10, 1957, son of Richard and Rose Barocco Strehlke, he was brought up in Sherborn, and was a high school basketball and track star. He attended American University and San Francisco State University where he continued to play basketball. Glenn ran several Boston marathons. He had a fine memory for every sporting event, both his own and those of the Boston teams, and this memory later served to make him an accomplished chess player. He worked for several family businesses with his father and uncle Albert L. Strehlke, but was most proud of his time with New Balance when the great athletic footwear company was just beginning. He was best friend to his beloved sister, the late Janet S. Justiniano, and a wonderful brother to Carl, of Florence, Italy, and Mark, of Medfield, whom he sadly leaves behind along with his sister-in-law, Dawn, and admiring nephews, Jake and Dylan. Deep thanks to the community of caretakers and fellow patients at the Fresenius Kidney Care in Milford, where he had lived for many years, and to the medical team of the UMass Medical Center. Graveside services July 24 at 5pm at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sherborn.
