James Manoli Obituary

Age 65 of Natick, died after a short illness on Friday July 29 2022. He was born to the late Dr Charles and Virginia Manoli in Georgetown, Washington DC. Shortly after, he and his parents relocated back to Dorchester MA where he was raised.  Jim leaves his beautiful wife of 27 years, Jean, and Peter, his love. He joins his adored daughter Rachel who passed in 2013. He is also survived by his siblings Charles, Mary and James Blandino, John, Mark, Vincent and Claudia, Matthew and Sharon; his five godchildren Peter Blandino, Peter Manoli, Charles Manoli, Erin Conley, and Daniel Manoli. He was the devoted brother of the late Peter Manoli. He leaves behind an extensive loving and supportive family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Jim was a graduate of BC High and Northeastern University.  Jim took a Co-op job with USDOL-OSHA. It was here that Jim’s commitment to worker safety began.  He continued on this path ending with over 20 years as a devoted employee to Barr and Barr Builders as their Safety Director and Vice President.  Jim fell for the game of golf when he first played with his future father-in-law in Florida. He went on to share this love with many family, friends, and colleagues.

He took great pride in being a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club for 15 years and felt privileged to spend so much time there.  His North Conway home was a place where extended family gathered for winters and summers and was where he passed on his love for skiing and the outdoors. A true Boston sports fan since he could walk: His dad taking him to Fenway to watch the Sox and Boston Patriots or his uncles bringing him to games all over the country. The love of sports only grew and was later felt by those he coached in Natick Little League and commentated for Natick hockey. You could always find Jim with a book in his hand or a Bruce song playing.  His passion for these stayed with him throughout his life and this enthusiasm was infectious to those around him. He was a friend of Bill W for 29 years.

Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street NATICK COMMON on Friday August 5th at 9am.  Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church 44 East Central Street (Rt. 135) Natick at 10am.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick.  Visiting Hours on Thursday August 4th from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
