Janice Elizabeth (Watson) Jenkins of Sherborn, MA, passed away unexpectedly on February 22. 2024. She is survived by her husband, Frank, and children, Christopher of Framingham, MA, Jonathan of Sharon, MA, and daughter, Sandra Beauregard of Sherborn, MA. In addition, she had four grandchildren, Kay and Clara of Sharon and Isabelle and Aidan of Sherborn. Beth was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, attended public schools in Barrington, Illinois, attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. She met her husband in Philadelphia, married in 1962 and moved to New England in 1966. She worked for Honeywell in the 1960s and 1970s as a software developer. She was a resident of Sherborn, MA since 1968.
Beth was an accomplished equestrian, teacher, and judge of dressage. She dedicated her life to the equestrian community where she was a charter member of the New England Dressage Association, serving on its board of directors, managing many horse shows and serving as chair of its competitions committee. In December, 2023, she was awarded the Member of Distinction Award by the United States Dressage Federation.
Beth was an accomplished bridge player where she would partner with her husband in various local and statewide tournaments. In the old days Beth would host her famous Saturday Bridge Dinners at her home cooking homemade meals with tables setup all around the house.
Beth was an excellent tennis player competing in numerous local club and town tournaments. She had a famous back-fore-hand, which always resulted in a winner.
Beth leaves behind an extended family spread across the United States and Grand Canary Islands and had a huge impact on all those she touched. She hosted numerous family gatherings for relatives and friends alike, and considered the glue for immediate and extended family when some fixing needed doing.
