John was born in the Grove Hall section of Boston on October 1, 1934, to Italian immigrants Anna (Ma) and Frank (Pa) DiRuscio. He was the youngest of nine children and grew up in a loving, warm, and welcoming family. His childhood home was filled with laughter and love, Pa's jokes, and the delicious aromas of Sunday dinners with his mother's homemade pasta and sauce. He was a proud Korean War veteran. John worked alongside his father and brother as a general contractor for many years.
John married Patricia Giordano, the love of his life, in October 1959. After living in Boston for seven years, they settled in Natick in 1966. For almost sixty years, he was part of the Wethersfield neighborhood community. John and Patricia made countless friends and shared many happy moments with neighbors. John's fondest memories were with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He cherished his role as "Grampie." Family meant everything to him.
