89, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2019 after a short period of declining health. Jack was born on May 4, 1930 to the late John Kelley and Kathryn (Mackey) Kelley.
Jack is survived by his wife, Joanne (Hladick), his children – Patricia Doucette and her husband Gary, Susan Kelley, Linda O’Reilly and her husband Robert, John F. Kelley, III and Timothy Kelley and his wife Amy (DiGiandomenico), his grandchildren – Adam, Matt, and Jenna Doucette, Danielle and Shawn Mahoney, Craig, Erin, and Cory O’Reilly, Brianna and Meghan Kelley, and Ava Kelley, his great-grandchildren – Leah, Annie, Addison, Colette, Camryn, Jadalese, Jasmine, Cameron and Landon, his nephew and niece Tommy and Kathy Spencer, as well as his sister-in-law Margaret Spencer.
While a student at Natick High, Jack excelled at both hockey and football. During his Sophomore year at Natick High his football team “The Natick Red and Blue were undefeated. He graduated from Natick High School with the Class of 1949.
After graduation Jack built homes for Martin Cerel Realty. In 1953 he purchased a small Cab Company and his business venture began as Colonial Cab. He soon realized a need for transportation beyond the taxi business and in 1976 JFK Transportation was established. He carried a special place in his heart for the Special Needs community. He donated much of his time providing transportation and volunteering at many events.
Jack was a proud “Natickite” and loved his “Home of Champions”. A perfect afternoon for Jack was spent attending the many sporting events, plays, dances, and concerts of his children and grandchildren. When there was time to relax he would spend it with family at his summer home in Sandwich on “Old Cape Cod”.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the caring staff at Riverbend of South Natick, they understood how special he was.
Funeral services have been arranged with John Everett & Sons Funeral Home at Natick Common, 4 Park St. Visiting hours are Thursday, December 19th from 4:00-8:00pm. His funeral will take place on Friday, December 20th in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
