Joe’s eleven grandchildren have given him 38 years of memories: Billy, Kyle, Scott, Tyler, Sophia, Francesca, Jay, Cameron, Dominic, Danny, and Lindsey. Joe is survived by his brother, Gene Verna (Barbara) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, sister-in-law Joan Recchia of Shirley and his sister Mary Bomboy of New Orleans, LA who preceded him in death. Joe has been blessed to have a wonderful extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Over the years, Joe cherished his time watching his children and grandchildren grow and enjoy life.

Joe was instrumental in the development of the West Suburban Arena (now Chase Arena) and Natick Comets Hockey. In his various capacities as Hockey Coordinator, Vice-President, and President of West Suburban Arena he formed lifelong friendships. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and his wife, Irene, where they were long time members at The Charles River Country Club.
