Obituary

Her loved ones are heartbroken to announce the recent death of beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and teacher Kathleen (Hines) Donnellan of South Natick.  Kathleen passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 3rd following a battle with cancer.  Kathleen was pre-deceased by her parents, Thomas and Eva (Holland) Hines.  She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Donnellan of Natick; sons, William Montero of Boston and Oliver Donnellan of Framingham; brother Kevin and his wife Beth of Falmouth; stepdaughters Clare, and her husband Scott, Palmatier, of Needham, and, Lara Clark, and her husband Keith, of Dover.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, many adoring nieces and nephews, and by generations of students with whom it was her lifelong joy to work.  She spent many wonderful years at the Holland Elementary School in Dorchester, where she passed on her love of learning to young students and English language learners.  Kathleen will forever be remembered as a tremendously gifted teacher, a generous and positive friend, and perhaps, as the kindest person many of us have been blessed to know.

A liturgy in celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at Saint Cecelia’s Church, 18 Belvidere Street, Boston, MA 02115.
