Laurence Gotimer Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Laurence D. Gotimer, 58, of Framingham on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Larry was born on November 1, 1965, in Lynn, MA, the son of Laurence and Patricia (Rickson) Gotimer. He was raised in Lynn and lived there until 2004 before moving to Framingham where he resided until his death.

Most notably, Larry worked for many years for Tom’s Taxi in Lynn, MA. He was also a welder and carpenter. A man of many talents and skills, Larry built anything and everything he could with his hands. He was always known for his hard work and dedication.

Larry’s strong work ethic was matched only by his fierce love for those he held dear. Larry enjoyed body building and physical fitness and could often be found exercising and lifting his weights at home. In later years he took up canvas painting, following the direction and advice of Bob Ross, he loved creating beautiful ocean landscapes and sunsets, and he would personalize these paintings as gifts for his friends and loved ones.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his daughter, Alicia Gotimer, his nephew Erik Gotimer and his wife Erin Gotimer, his two beloved granddaughters, Allana Lee Block and Journey Gotimer, and he is also survived by his older sister, Brenda Gotimer, all of whom will carry him in their hearts forever.

Larry was known for his gruff exterior but beneath that was a heart of gold. He loved fiercely and protectively, especially when it came to his granddaughters who were the light of his life. He was a one-of-a-kind gentleman who made everyone feel special, often with his signature bear hugs. Larry had a rare gift of making people laugh so hard they’d cry, and his generosity knew no bounds-whether helping a stranger on the sidewalk or lending a helping hand to someone stranded on the highway.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew him and his memory will live on in the laughter, love, and kindness that he has shared with others. He will forever be in our hearts.
