It is with heavy hearts we announce that Leonard "Lenny" M. Jennings of South Natick passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Lenny was born in Natick on July 15, 1953, to the late Robert and Glenna (Duboyce) Jennings. He was the beloved partner of Diane Morrill and the proud father to Michael (Marnie) Jennings of Westborough, Scott (Sandy) Jennings of Natick, and Carol (Ryan) Amell of Hudson. His greatest satisfaction was being “Grampy” to his six beloved grandchildren, Nick & Danny Jennings, Alison & Emma Jennings, and Olivia & Alexandra Amell. He also leaves his heartbroken Corgis, Belle & Kai. Some of the family's fondest memories are of Grampy attending every sporting event that the grandkids participated in. He would never miss a single game.
He was the adored youngest sibling of Anne (Bob) White, James (Judy) Jennings, and Sandy (Tom) Dugan. He is also survived by many treasured nieces and nephews who all held "Uncle Len" very close to their hearts.
Lenny followed in his father's footsteps proudly serving and protecting the great citizens of Natick where he served as a Patrol Officer for over 30 years before retiring in 2008. Lenny was affectionately known as a "cop's cop" where he earned the respect of his colleagues and the community alike. His leadership, dedication and unwavering support for his brothers and sisters in blue left a lasting impact that will not soon be forgotten. To know him was to love him, and Lenny Jennings was loved by all!
A true townie, Lenny never ventured too far from his beloved South Natick, although he was often found helping others, having a great conversation or having a cup of coffee at the iconic Casey’s Diner.
After his retirement he could be found most afternoons holding court in his hospitable garage with his regular crew of Jim Jennings, Tony Ferro, Allen Bush, Alanna Scott & Tom Dugan.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 4-8 pm at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick Common. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be private at a later date. A celebration of life will be held at the Natick Elks, 95 Speen Street, Natick immediately following the funeral service.
