Lisbeth “Liz” Jordan Hall, born April 19, 1933, passed away peacefully on January 4th 2022 at the age of 88. The eldest of four children of Drs. Claus and Charlotte Jordan, Liz grew up in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Mt. Holyoke College. She married Lyle G. Hall in 1955, and the couple raised six children, first in Ridgway, Pennsylvania and then in Westwood and Dover, Massachusetts. Following 60 wonderful years of marriage together, Lyle passed away in September 2016.
Liz lived a life full of loving and caring and had a curiosity and passion for learning that fostered an array of interests and occupations. Through her work as an artist, art teacher, shepherd, entrepreneur, and ordained Episcopal minister, Liz touched many lives, embodying compassion for others in all she did. Among her many passions was her love for animals – dogs, cats, horses, llamas, chickens, and especially her sheep. Above all, Liz loved and was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family, to all of whom – and to the countless others who loved her – she was a teacher, spiritual guide and friend, as well as wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her heart was ever overflowing, and lap always full – of grandchildren or beloved animal friends.
Liz is survived by her six children (Sandy Sheble-Hall and his wife Becky of Dover, MA., Megan Hall and her husband Steve Scrimshaw of Sherborn, MA., Charlotte Hall Perkins and her husband Sam of Ashfield, MA., Cara Hall Liu and her husband Steve of Norwich, VT., Jordan Hall and his wife Deborah of Medfield, MA., and Jessica Hall of Boston, MA.) thirteen grandchildren (Jordan, Rory, Luke, Timmy, Sayre, Hannah, Kate, Gus, Emma, Joey, Jackson, Mackenzie, Sophie), and two sisters, Gretchen McKnew and Judy Jordan. She was predeceased by her brother Henry Jordan.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lisbeth's memory to Ephiphany School, 154 Centre St., Boston, MA 02124.
