Obituary

Louise (Matthews) Franciose, 97, of Natick, MA, passed away  on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Miriam Boyd Parlin House, Wayland.

She was the wife of the late Rocco “Rocky” Franciose.

Born in Johnston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joel Thomas and Nicey Tabitha (Barefoot) Matthews. She married Rocky in 1945, then came to Natick to start her family the same year. She worked as the office manager for Franciose Bros. Paving but kept her family first, attending every sporting event, school activity, and social occasion.  Louise made every holiday special, not only for family but extended family and friends, her southern hospitality alway shone through. In 1958, Louise started spending her summers in Mattapoisett, which she enjoyed for over 70 years. Gardening was a passion, and Louise grew vegetables that she canned and preserved for the winter months. During her time in Natick she became an avid Boston sports fan, watching every Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics game.

Most important to Louise was her annual winter vacations when she and Rocky would take the family to her home in North Carolina, keeping her southern roots strong. She also loved traveling with her late husband Rocky and socializing with her girlfriends.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph T. “Tommy” Franciose and his wife Patricia, John R. Franciose, Rocco Franciose Jr., and his wife Brenda all of Natick, one daughter, Linda Cassidy and her late husband Ken of Pompano Beach, FL, three grandchildren, Lynette Franciose, Michael Bruneau and his wife Erica and Stephanie Bruneau; seven great grandchildren, Livia Rigoli, Jackson, Cassidy, Isabel, and Jocelyn Mitcham; Jacob and Ella Bruneau.
