Madeline K. (Dindy) Socrat, 85, of Wayland, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 23, 2025.
Born in Boston, MA on September 22, 1939, she was the beloved daughter of the late Stephen and Katherine (Tranidh) Dindy.
Madeline was a dedicated and talented Teacher. She worked for the Boston School Department, retiring in 2000 after 30 years of service in education. She was also a dedicated and faithful member of the Annunciation Orthodox Church of Natick, since 1975, participating in many church activities and initiatives and contributed her beautiful singing voice to the church choir for many years. Madeline was an avid and talented gardener, and she loved spending as much time with her family and grandchildren as possible, relishing all the time spent together with them over holidays, birthdays, and special events.
She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Madeline is predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Alexandre Socrat (d. 2015), and her son, Eric P. Socrates (d. 2014). She was the loving mother of Aaron Socrat and his wife Patricia, of Douglas. Doting grandmother of Nicholas, Katherine, Alaina and Dalton. Sister of Peter Dindy and Michael Dindy. She is also survived by her beloved daughter-in-law, Susan Socrates, of N. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Visitation at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON, on Thursday, May 29th from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. A Graveside Service will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, in Wayland, at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
