Margaret Helen Davis (née Harding) passed away late in the evening of Friday, November 15th 2024. Margaret was a fantastic story teller bringing joy and love into every tale she spun. The stories she told of her life during the depression, World War Two, and amazing tales of children living in a rainbow monster world made her two granddaughters continually long for hearing her joyous voice on the many summer nights they spent at her house in Ashaway, Rhode Island. Margaret was the wife of James Allen Davis for 52 years before his passing in 2009. She was a mother of three Mark Patton, Cathy Avery and Christopher Davis. She was a grandmother of two Rachael Barton and Jennifer Filias and also earned great grandmother status, Norah Barton and Naomi Filias. In addition to her family she adored many things throughout her 93 years of life. She had a passion for rescuing animals and tending to plants. She had a near encyclopedic knowledge of flora and fauna, their names, and how to take care of them. She also discovered later in life a love of painting in which she was very talented. Margaret grew up in Toledo, Ohio alongside her family, father Henry Harding, mother Margaret Harding (née McCance), brothers Roy Hollingdale, William Harding, Calvin Harding, Donald Harding, and sister Betty Tittle (née Harding). She graduated from Woodward High School class of 1949 after which she studied engineering at the University of Toledo. Margaret was a vivacious woman, she loved genealogy, British history, and was an avid fan of figure skating. She will be missed by all those who knew her, a group who will never forget her smile, laugh, or the stories she told.
