Margaret “Peggy” (Hladick) Spencer of Natick passed away on April 15, 2026, after a period of declining health.
She was born on January 12, 1943, in Natick to the late Fred and Nellie (Morris) Hladick. Devoted mother of Thomas Spencer (Lisa) and Kathleen Destafano. Loving Grandmother of Thomas J. (Jennifer), Kyle and Jessica Spencer, Kaili Kellam (Nick Cunningham) and Anthony Destafano. Great Grandmother of Mackenzie, Savannah, Genevieve and Mikaila. Dear sister of Joanne Kelley. Loving Aunt of Patricia, Susan, Linda, Jackie and Timothy. Former wife of the late Garnet L. Spencer.
Peggy was a graduate of Natick High School, Class of 1961, where she maintained many lasting friendships. She was always proud to be named “Miss Twist” in 1962 while working at the Natick Army Labs. She also worked for many years at Natick Town Hall in various positions in the Assessors and Collectors office.
Peggy was a lifelong ‘Rink Rat’, attending numerous hockey games. You could also find her supporting her extended family at many activities and other sporting events. She was also an avid fan of many Boston Sports teams.
Peggy is also survived by many of Garnet’s siblings, nieces and nephews in upstate New York.
Visiting Hours in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street Natick Common will be on Friday May 1st from 8:30-10:30am. Followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
