Margarita York Obituary

Margarita T. (Forte) York, of Natick, passed away on December 17, 2022.  Beloved wife of the late Emery F. York, Jr. Devoted mother of Joseph York and his wife Barbara of ME, Mitar Khalsa and her husband Tera of ME, Charles York and his wife Katherine of CT, Nancy Sinclair and her husband Stephen of ME, Margaret York-Jesme and her husband John Jesme of MN, and Judith Frey and her husband Joseph of Grafton. Dear sister of Dolores Lowney of Carlisle, and the late Nina Crugnola, and Anna Scott. Loving grandmother of Jennifer, Stephanie, Timothy, Andrea, Satsi, Chuck, Michael, Melissa, Katie, Maggie, Ben, Amory, Joseph, Jamie, and Julia. Great grandmother of 27 and Great great grandmother of 3.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Margaret York was a resident of Natick for 67 years.  She was a member of St. Patrick's Church where she taught CCD classes and worshipped.  She fasted every Lent well into her 90's.  Margaret is greatly missed and fondly remembered for her quick sense of wit, warm and open heart for people and her faith in Jesus Christ.  She loved her husband of 73 years, her family and her friends. She was also well known for her love of Scrabble and Crossword puzzles, the cakes that she decorated for every occasion, and her never-ending laughter and song.  In her younger years, Margaret loved to walk—four miles per day most days. She loved Dad's flowers from the first springtime Crocus to the very last rose of the season.  Her greatest joy was when family or friends were gathering which always put the biggest smile on her face!  Those are our fond memories of her.  What are yours?  Can't you hear her laughter and see her face light up as she opens her front door to greet you as you step onto her front walk?  God bless you Margaret!

A visiting hour will be held at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, NATICK COMMON, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 8:45-9:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Church, 44 E Central St., Natick at 10:00 am. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery, Natick.
