Marion Meloni Guild, age 80, of Natick, Massachusetts, known to her loved ones as “Marty,” passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18th, 2026 with her husband and daughter by her side.

We already miss her enthusiasm for life, her warmth and kindness, and the love she had for all those close to her.

Marty was born on September 23, 1945 in Boston to Mary Teresa Mcdonald, of Glasgow Scotland. Due to terminal illness, Mary Teresa found Ruth and Joseph Meloni to be Marty’s adoptive parents, and they raised her with love in Dover, MA.

An avid equestrian beginning at age seven, Marty grew up horseback riding with friends, chasing after her springer spaniel, Pepper, and fishing in the Charles River. She shared her passion for riding with friends in town and rode their horses until she was able to buy one of her own. Throughout her life, she adopted four Arabian horses, participated in countless competitive trail rides all around New England, and earned many ribbons and prizes for her success. Along with exploring the woods on horseback, Marty treasured connecting and reminiscing with equestrian friends at the rides, on the trails and in the barns. We will always remember her fondly watching the horses graze, while enjoying a nice cup of black coffee.

Marty was extremely dedicated to childhood education, and trained at Sergeant College of Boston University, becoming a pediatric occupational therapist. She began her career at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Brighton, MA, and rose up the ranks to become the assistant director of the OT department. In the second half of her career, Marty worked as an occupational therapist for the Natick public schools. She designed a handwriting curriculum and tirelessly journeyed from school to school to help children of all ages. Some of her most cherished friendships were born from this work. In her career, she treated and helped over 10,000 children.

In 1969 she struck up a conversation with a friend of a friend, and Stephen became the love of her life. Marty and Stephen were married in 1972, and they enjoyed fifty-four years full of love and devotion while also honoring each other’s independence. They bought a house in Natick in 1978, and Marty and Stephen welcomed their daughter Lisa to the world in 1984. Marty was a wonderful mother and role model to Lisa, raising her to also be strong and independent, and supporting Lisa’s passion for art and the outdoors. Marty’s life on Woodland Street was full of many happy adventures like boating on the Charles, trying new recipes and escaping to Cape Cod for two weeks every summer.

Marty had a zest for life and kept in touch with so many friends and coworkers throughout her retirement. She joined a bowling team and worked hard to hone her skills on the lanes. Marty enjoyed knitting, gardening, and cooking lasagnas and pecan pies with Stephen, and the two of them became active volunteers for The Natick Food Pantry and other charities. Marty celebrated the birth of her grandson in 2019, and of her granddaughter in 2026.

Marty is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen Guild; their daughter, Lisa Guild-Hanna and her husband, Will Hanna; two grandchildren, Mason and Iris; her sister, Carol Meloni and her husband, Mark; her nephew, Mark Jr and his wife, Hollace and their children; so many wonderful cousins; and cherished friends both near and far.

A celebration of Marty’s life was held at The First Congregational Church of Natick on Friday June 26th at 4:30pm. A very special Thank You! to all of our friends and family who attended and shared their stories and memories of Marty.
