Mary A. “Molly” (O’Keefe) O’Neil, a resident of Natick for more than 60 years passed away on July 10, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. O'Neil, who predeceased her in 2012. Molly was born in Buffalo, NY on April 20, 1937, a daughter of the late Norbert and Adelaide (Sheehan) O’Keefe.
She is survived by their children, Thomas A. O'Neil, Jr. and wife Karen of East Sandwich, Mary A. Wallace and husband Bill of North Attleboro, and Daniel P. O'Neil and wife Lydia of Round Rock, TX; her cherished grandchildren, Tom O'Neil of Boston, Tyler O’Neil of Milford, CT, Elizabeth Kastrinelis and her husband Tim of Plastow, NH, Jake Wallace of Boston, Carolyn Wallace of Plainville, Macklin O’Neil of Milwaukee WI and Arden O'Neil of Missoula MT; her siblings, Barbara Fornes of San Diego, CA, Kevin and his wife Carolyn O'Keefe of Brighton, MI and the late Janet Ryan. Sister-in-law of Philip Ryan of Naperville, IL and Elinor Bowers of Green Harbor. Also survived by many devoted nieces, nephews and friends.
Molly was a graduate of Framingham State Teachers College and was a long-time elementary school ESL teacher in Natick where she formed lasting bonds with her students; receiving cards and letters from all over the word long after she retired. She was an avid Boston sports fan, particularly with the Red Sox and Patriots, and, along with Tom, was a BC football season ticket holder for 50 years. She was a prolific reader, loved to play cards and had an incredibly quick-witted sense of humor.
Funeral Service in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street Natick Common on Thursday July 18th at 11am. Interment Glenwood Cemetery South Natick. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours on Wednesday July 17th from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
