Mary Ross, 87, of Framingham, died peacefully February 10 after a long illness.
Mary was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Growing up in Quincy, she met the love of her life, Charlie Ross. Their 66-year marriage brought them to Walpole, where they raised two children and were active in the Catholic Church. She became a daily swimmer, a passion that continued for decades. In middle age, they moved to Natick, which became their home for 32 years. In retirement, they volunteered in the Medical Reserve Corps.
Professionally, Mary was a registered nurse and held two master's degrees. She had a lifelong connection to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she attended nursing school in the 1950s, later working many years in case management, helping patients transition to post- hospitalization care.
Mary was passionate about everything she did, whether for the family or her career.
