Miguel A. Espada, 79, of Natick, MA, passed away, Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at home.
He was the husband of Rita (Gomez) Espada.
Born in Coamo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Felix and Filomena (Espada) Espada.
Miguel had worked as a welder for Cryonic Engineering and Colonial Engineering for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Boston Knight of Columbus. Mr. Espada enjoyed playing the guitar with his friends and his family, especially during the holidays. He played the bass guitar as part of the Sonido Espada band playing all around Cambridge and Somerville. He played guitar for the Spanish chorus at St. Columbkille Parish for over 20 years. He had also worked for Star Market in Wellesley part time and then at Roche Bros in Wellesley until 2018.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rita C. Espada and her husband Bernardo of Kissimmee, FL, a step son, Luis A. Espada and his wife Sonia of Cali, Colombia, two brothers, Orlando Espada of Villalba, Puerto Rico and Marcelino Espada of Philadelphia, PA, two sisters, Rosael Espada and Luz Maria Espada both of Cambridge, MA, and three grandchildren, Jelanie, Jeleah and Sebastian. He was also the brother of the late Lidio Espada, Julio Espada and Anna G. Espada.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON, on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 9AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
