Dear sister of Janet Spillane & her late husband Robert of Natick and Hank Tyler & his late wife Linda of Aurora Colorado. Caring aunt of Michael R. Spillane and his wife Shari, and their children, Samantha, Jared, and Kylie, and Kerri T. Spillane and her children, Tyler Spillane and William & Maeve Lowney. Nancy also leaves behind her extended family in Colorado.
Nancy was born in 1941. She grew up in Wellesley with her sister and brother. She graduated from Wellesley High School in 1959. Nancy was nicknamed “Tyle”. Although she didn’t partake in sports, she performed the Bamboo dance in the gym show, requiring great coordination and stamina. She went on to attend and graduate from Mt Ida Junior College, in Newton and became a medical secretary, first for a doctor in Boston then for Dr Sabin at Leonard Morse Hospital. While there she met a wonderful group of people who became like family, they encouraged her to become a Respiratory Therapist which she did and then practiced in that field at Leonard Morse for 30 years.
One of the members of her Leonard Morse family, Helen, became a good friend. Nancy and Helen did many bike rides together, including a Bike and Barge in the Netherlands. Nancy was very active, and she lived to walk and bike. She joined the Appalachian Mountain Club and did many hikes with them, including a "4,000-footer" in NH. She also did a hiking tour of Portugal.
Nancy remained friends with her former husband, who has kept in touch with her until her passing.
One of Nancy's favorite activities was being at the beach, she always liked jumping in the waves at Skaket Beach and her most favorite of times was spent at Orleans, especially with her family joining her.
Nancy loved her niece and nephew and their children so very much. She always greeted her family with a smile when they visited her at St Patrick's Manor in Framingham where she was well taken care of.
Janet and her family will always cherish these memories of Nancy and miss her very much.
