Pasquale DeLuca Obituary

Pasquale DeLuca of Natick passed away on May 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 85. He was born in 1937 in Corfinio L’Agiila, Italy where he lived for most of his childhood then, moving to France with his parents and siblings. Before moving to America, Pasquale briefly lived in Canada, eventually finding his way to Massachusetts and landing in Natick when he and Maria married in 1959. Their family nearly tripled as Patsy and Maria welcomed seven children in the two decades that followed. With a house full of children, and plenty of neighbors and friends flowing through the door, their home on Sherman Street was never quiet. It was assumed if you went to the DeLuca’s you’d leave with a full stomach and a new nickname, gifted to you by Pasquale. During his time in France, he worked on a farm, bringing that passion with him to his new home where he regularly tended to his garden for years, growing enough vegetables, especially tomatoes, to feed those seven kids… and then some.  He was meticulous about his passions, whether that was tying up and pinching back his plants or making gnocchi and a fresh sauce made from his San Marzano tomato harvest.

Pasquale also was a longtime member of the Italo-American Club in Wellesley where he regularly played bocce and played cards. Pasquale was a longtime member at Captain Mardens and Wellesley High School and was a beloved member of the community. He also worked alongside his sons landscaping.    With a growing crop of grandchildren, Pasquale became an avid fan of little league, and hockey games, among the many other sports they decided to give a try. When he wasn’t keeping an eye on his family, he was perched on his porch watching cars and neighbors pass by or walking the neighborhood with his late dog Brady. Pasquale was an old-school family man, a cherished father, and a treasured grandfather.

Beloved husband of Maria (D’Ortenizo) DeLuca.  Devoted father of Anthony and his wife Jane of Franklin, James and his wife Elizabeth of Dover, Donna of Framingham, Maryanne Gagel and her husband Paul of Norton, Kathy of Framingham, Pasquale Jr. and his wife Lisa of Natick, Beverly of Framingham.  Brother of Anna Eisiele of France and Wilson DeLuca of Lincoln City, OR.  Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and plenty of extended family in Australia. Arrivederci per ora, Pasquale.
