Paul J. Doherty, a longtime Natick resident, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Watertown, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Kinchla) Doherty. Paul moved with his family to Natick in 1960, where he spent the remainder of his life.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rosalie (Cammarano) Doherty, with whom he shared nearly 59 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children: Michael J. Doherty of Natick, Paul D. Doherty and his wife Tracey of Braintree, and Julie K. Doherty of Natick. Paul was also the proud Papa of eight grandchildren: Amy Rose, Rachel, Giana, Davis, Kirsten, Nicholas, Dean, and Jamie.
In his later years, Paul spent a significant amount of time at the Natick Senior Center, where he enjoyed the companionship of his friends and participated in community activities. He also received invaluable assistance from the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, which supported him in his daily life as his vision declined. Despite these challenges, Paul maintained his positive spirit and remained deeply committed to his family, faith, and community.
Paul is survived by his sister, Marie T Doherty of Watertown, and was predeceased by his brother, the late Rev. Henry F Doherty.
A devoted and loving man, Paul will be remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, and sense of humor. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family will live on in those who were fortunate to know him.
