Priscilla Kachadorian passed away August 1st at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, after a short illness. She was surrounded by those she loved. She will be greatly missed by her two adoring children and their spouses, Lesley and Bob Leonhardt of Wellesley and Barry and Donna Kachadorian of Framingham as well as by her loving grandchildren, Bobby and Raluca Leonhardt and her nephews Mark and Leon Kachadorian. She will be met in heaven by her husband, Harry Kachadorian, and her grandson, Nicholas Leonhardt.
Priscilla was born in Worcester on October 22, 1929, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Mesrobian. Priscilla was the youngest of three. The youngest by 10 years, her siblings doted on her. Graduating from Commerce High School, she was remembered as being a good dancer and a sharp dresser. Her love of clothes and fashion would continue throughout her life. She was always impeccably dressed. Following graduation, she worked at the Worcester Telegram Gazette. Having a passion for theatre, she attended acting school in Boston and performed in summer stock.
In her late 20s, she reconnected with her father’s best student in Armenian school, Harry Kachadorian. As they say, the rest is history. They got married and lived in Boston where Priscilla worked as a translator at Children’s Hospital. Ready to start a family, they bought a house in Natick that they filled with two children and many happy memories with family and friends.
Priscilla always kept busy and worked as a volunteer librarian at East school when her children were young and later as an administrative assistant at PMC Beta in Natick. Later she worked at Mail Boxes Etc with close friends Ester and Larry Ovian. She volunteered for many years at the Morse Institute Library in Natick where she had many friends until 2020 when COVID hit.
Priscilla loved her family and friends. She always had time to socialize, attend an event at church or for an adventure. She loved to travel, shop for a new outfit and she exercised for hours up until a few years ago. She cared deeply about others and was the first to jump in when someone was sick or needed help. She was always grateful for the kindness others showed to her. Priscilla taught us to be strong as well as the importance of a sense of humor. We were blessed by her love, her smile, her sassiness and her laughter. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Family and friends are invited to her memorial service on Saturday, August 16th from 10am-12 noon at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home at 4 Park Street at Natick Common.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Priscilla’s memory to the Armenian Church of the Holy Translators in Framingham or the Morse Institute Library, 14 E Central Street in Natick.
