Richard “Dick” James Hughes, 83, a long time Wellesley, MA resident and in recent years Medway, MA passed away, Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Timothy Daniels House, Holliston, MA.
He was the husband of the late Helen (Cline) Hughes.
Born in Newton, MA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Sarah (Noone) Hughes.
Dick was a master electrician for over 40 years, he had worked for Crowley Electric, Prime Computer and Putnam Investments retiring in 2012. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving his time in West Germany during the construction of the Berlin wall. Dick was a member of the Reliance club in Wellesley for many years. Dick also enjoyed traveling with his family members, visiting Ireland and England as well as Hawaii and many cruises to the Carribean Islands.
He is survived by his devoted sister Rosemary Hall of Natick, MA. He was also the loving brother of the late Joseph E., Robert P., John J., Edmund C., Francis M. and David P. Hughes and sister Sarah Poisson.
He is survived by his many cherished nieces and nephews, Dick was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending many wonderful times with them.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 8:30-9:30AM in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday at 10AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Pond St., Natick.
