Of Natick, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at age 81.
Son of the late Daniel J. Coakley and Cecilia M. (Mullahey). Beloved husband of Mary C. (Wheaton) Coakley of Natick. Devoted father of Raymond L. Coakley, Jr., Robert L. Coakley and his wife Meredith all of Natick, Richard L. Coakley and his wife Melanie of Medway, and Leslie M. Chmielinski and her husband Christopher of Natick. Brother of the late Irene Blackington, Harold, Eugene, Robert, John, and Joseph Coakley. Proud grandfather of Matthew, Meghan, Michael, Madison, Aidan, Liam, Ryan, and Tyler. Survived by many loved nieces and
nephews.
Mr. Coakley was employed with Raytheon Company for more than fifty years where he met and enjoyed many lifelong friends and where he met his loving wife of 51 years. Born and raised in Newton, MA the family moved to their new home in Natick in 1982. He loved going on family vacations, Christmas, gardening, Patriot games, music, reading, traveling and spending time at the Conway home with the entire family. A diehard Boston sports fan he will always be our GOAT.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, NATICK COMMON on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at 11 AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick at 12 PM. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
