Richard A. “Dick” Fahey of Holyoke, formerly of Worcester and Natick passed away at home on February 27, 2025.
He was born on April 12, 1944, in Natick to the late Arthur and Mary (Schmidt) Fahey. Devoted father of Katherine Racine of Springfield. Loving grandfather of Tyler, Kyle, and Kaleigh Racine. Brother of Earl Fahey, Arthur Fahey and his wife Josie, and the late James Fahey and his late wife Gloria. Great-grandfather of Jason, Milo, Cillian, Arilyn and Alexander. Dick is also survived by his godson, Richard Spencer Jr., 5 nieces, 1 nephew, and many great nieces and nephews.
Dick attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Marion High School (both in Natick). He went on to graduate from the David Hale Fanning School of Nursing in 1970. Richard worked as a nurse for roughly 40 years providing passionate and loving care to his patients in the greater Worcester Community. Richard was proud to be a member of the Worcester Auxiliary Police, Badge #74, having served in that position for 10 years. He was a member of the Southborough Rod & Gun Club for over 20 years.
After Dick’s retirement he continued his education at Worcester State University, studying art & theatre, two great loves in his life, he practiced and honed his crafts as a member of the Worcester Art Guild. Dick was an exceptionally talented concert pianist, and he also owned and operated his own photography business for many years.
He regularly volunteered at the Worcester Senior Center, doing what he could to contribute back to his community to help vulnerable seniors and those in need.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street NATICK COMMON, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 9:00 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 44 East Central St (Rt 135) Natick at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private. Visting Hours on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
