Richard E. “Dick” Stockwell of Natick, passed away on May 2, 2024.
He was born in Framingham on March 8, 1940, to the late Roy and Marion (Wade) Stockwell.
Beloved husband of the late Nancy (Indresano) Prior. Devoted father of the late David Prior and his surviving wife Sandra Prior of Milford. Loving grandfather to his granddaughter Caitlin Prior, who was his pride and joy. Brother of Elaine Aubrey of Hobe Sound FL., and the late Edward Stockwell of Natick. Also survived by two nieces and a nephew. As well as some neighborhood and co-worker friends.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Natick and graduated from Natick High School in 1958. He went on to join the United States Navy, as an electrician mate until 1962. After that, he become a Natick Letter Carrier for the next 41 years, retiring in 2004. He was heavily involved in the National Association of Letter Carriers as a union officer, including president, for the Natick Branch 362.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, gardening, and walking. Dick loved vacationing in Maine, Las Vegas, and Pennsylvania with his wife. He also enjoyed cheering on any New England sports teams.
A private Graveside Service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
