Robert F. McNally, 71, of Natick, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, with his son, Christopher McNally at his side. Robert was born in Worcester on August 3, 1952, to Clarence and Mary (McNamara) McNally. Throughout his youth, he was loved and guided by his brother, the late James R. McNally, and sister, the late Marjorie C. Bowles. He graduated from Doherty High School in Worcester and then from UMass, Amherst with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. At UMass, he met the love of his life, Kristin McNally, and they first resided in Western Massachusetts, eventually settling in Natick. Robert “Lou” McNally was mirthful, proudly creative, and bravely navigated a long illness. A loving husband and father, he cherished spending time with his family, especially on the Cape, and would never pass up a fishing trip, sailing, or a day at the beach. Married for 47 years, Robert would always want Kristin by his side, and they shared an affection for attending soccer games, especially the New England Revolution. A man of many hobbies, Robert enjoyed photography and would often pass his time outdoors with his Nikon camera at hand and his beloved beagles by his side. Before his illness, Robert would spend Sunday evenings at John Stone’s Inn playing the guitar and harmonica with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Kristin, of Natick, son Christopher McNally, and daughter-in-law Michelle McNally-Labbe, both of Millis and daughter Marisa McNally, of Natick. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Anthony Armata and his wife Judith, of Northborough, his brother-in-law, Giacomo "Jack" Armata and his wife Deborah, of Milford, and his nephew Michael P. Bowles of Auburn, as well as many other beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. He lived eccentrically, with kindness and generosity; his varied stories, jingles, jokes, and brilliant sense of humor will live on with his family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Augst 2, 2024 at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be private. If so inclined, donations in honor of Robert’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association DONATE ALZ.ORG. For online guestbook, please visit www.everettfuneral.com.
