Obituary

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Lorraine (Enquist) Tutuny of Pocasset, formerly of Holliston, who left us on September 16, 2023, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loved ones.

Shirley was born on December 19, 1934, in Watertown, MA to Hokan and Astrid Enquist and moved to Natick during her high school years where she met the love of her life, Pandi.  After graduating Natick High School Class of 52, she attended Mt. Ida College in Newton.  Shirley worked as a billing administrator at General Motors and soon found her love of fashion and worked over 25 years for Macys at Natick Mall and Kingston. Pandi and Shirley retired to Cape Cod in 1988 where they enjoyed the laid-back life of “the Cape” where family gatherings were often held with Shirley effortlessly creating whimsical affairs. Through heartfelt traditions and mouth watering delicacies she transformed her home into a haven of warmth and festivity.

Shirley led a rich and fulfilling life, dedicating her time and energy to the things she loved most:  her grandkids, baking, gardening, playing cards, and watching the Red Sox.  She was a true embodiment of a nurturing spirit, always putting others before herself while finding joy in their happiness.

Family members cherishing her memory are her husband of 69 years Pandi C. Tutuny and their 4 children; Mark and his former wife Lora of Falmouth, Steven and his wife Jeannie of St. Augustine, Florida, Linnea and her husband Gary Whear of Pocasset, Greg and his wife Alison of Natick.  Grandchildren; Melissa Tutuny, Elaine DesPres and her husband Camden, Matthew Whear and his wife Lesley, Sydney Whear, Scott Whear and his wife Molly, Lauren and Andrea Tutuny. Niece Katherine Kolenda, nephew Joseph Dhosi and many grand nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her sisters-in-law, Violetta Tutuny and Irene Dhosi.

Shirley’s warm kindness and loving presence touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting mark on family, friends and all who met her. Her memory will forever shine brightly in our hearts, her spirit and generosity will guide us always.

Shirley’s family would like to thank all who loved and supported her during the past few years, and a special thanks to the very caring staff of JML Care Center in Falmouth, who showed Shirley the utmost comfort, compassion, care, and dignity.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 11-12:00 followed by a service at John Everett Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick.  A burial will follow at Dell Park Cemetery, 163 Pond Street, Natick.
