Stella Ash Obituary

Stella Mae (McMahon) Ash passed away on April 29, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.  Born and raised in Natick, she was a graduate of Natick High School.  Beloved wife for twenty years to the late Gerald “Jerry” Ash.  Devoted mother of Jeanne (Doherty) O’Hearn and her husband Brian of Beverly, Dianne (Doherty) Fasano and her husband Justin of Lancaster.  Loving grandmother of Sephra and Kyra Fasano.  Stella was the oldest of twelve children. Sister of Walter McMahon Jr and his wife Linda, John McMahon and his wife Joyce, David McMahon, Robert McMahon and his wife Roxanne, Mary Linton and her late husband James, Patricia Rimbach and her late husband Phillip, Richard McMahon and his wife Lisa, Joseph McMahon and his wife Luanne, Peter McMahon, and the late Margaret Taylor and Virginia McMahon.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her former husband John Doherty of South Yarmouth. 

Stella put family first her entire life.  Whether she was helping raise her younger siblings, her children, or her grandchildren, family is what always mattered most. 

She was an employee of the Town of Natick for many years, working at Natick Library, Wilson Middle School, and Natick High School.

Stella exemplified kindness and gratitude, having a positive outlook every day of her life. The family deeply appreciates the loving care given to Stella by the nursing staff at Sterling Village, especially her hospice CNA Mary. She enjoyed cake decorating, making cakes for many special occasions and family events, and enjoyed sewing, making a beautiful christening gown worn by both of her granddaughters. 

Funeral from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street NATICK COMMON on Friday May 3rd at 9am. Followed by Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church 44 East Central Street (Rt. 135) Natick at 10am.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.  Visiting Hours on Thursday May 2nd from 4-7pm at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home.  To honor Stella’s love of children and animals, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Save a Dog (saveadog.org).
