Susan "Tuve" Lane Obituary

NATICK- Susan “Tuve” Marie Lane, 61 years of age, passed away on Wednesday March 12th, 2025 from complications of a heart attack surrounded by her loving family at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Susan was born in Norwood, Mass and grew up in Norwood, graduating from Norwood High School Class of 1981. She moved to Natick in 1996 when she opened Flowers by the Depot in Natick. Susan owned and operated the flower shop alongside her son for 25 years in Natick Center. In 2014, Susan was diagnosed with a rare strain of streptococcal pneumonia leading to bacterial meningitis and sepsis which caused her to become a quadruple amputee. She was in a wheelchair for many years with her son being her sole caretaker. For most people this would be a life-pausing tragedy. But to Susan, this was a newfound purpose and determination. Her personality, sharp wit, penchant for laughter was something she will always be loved and remembered for. She was a self-proclaimed “tough old broad”, bold, and stubborn but in the positive way. Her fearlessness helped her into becoming an amputee peer support councilor where it was her mission to help support those who had gone through similar treatment and offered her help in every way she could. Susan was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Boston Bruins. She was a huge supporter of the Boston Marathon. In her later years, she started a Facebook group called “Natick talks respectfully” aimed at unifying the town of Natick that she loved so much to be a part of. Her sense of community helped bring a lot of the town together to see each other’s humanity rather than be divided by partisan or religious barriers. Susan dedicated her life to helping and serving others and saw it as a mission whenever she could. She loved all pets and owned dogs, cats, birds, various fish, and reptiles for most of her life. She loved music and always had classic rock playing in the background. Above all else, Susan greatest pride was in being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her devoted son Jason “Jay” Lane of Natick, her loving granddaughter Adeline Marie Lane, and the Parris Family of Natick. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Lorraine (Attar) Lane. She also leaves behind numerous close friends and extended family members who are deeply saddened by her passing and will miss her dearly.
