Thomas Sheehan was born in Natick, Massachusetts in 1939. He graduated from Boston College. After a three-year tour of service in the Army, including two years in Germany during the Cold War, he relocated to Rockville, Maryland, where he resided since 1966. He was employed as an oceanographer for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for 31 years, from 1966 until his retirement in 1997. He spent his retirement years reading, hiking, and traveling throughout the United States and around the world. He is survived by two nieces, Eileen Sheehan and Maureen Murray, and a nephew, Sean Maturo, all of Massachusetts. His brother John Sheehan and sister Carol Maturo, and his father John Sheehan and mother Frances Sheehan predeceased him.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK COMMON, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 9AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central St., Natick. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 180 Pond St., Natick. Visiting hours will be held at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, NATICK COMMON, on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 8-9AM.
