Wanda Navarro (née Hendrix), 63, of Brimfield, MA, and formerly of Natick and Framingham, passed away after a car accident on December 8, 2024. Beloved wife of James (“Jimmy”) Navarro of 42 years. Devoted mother of Jeffrey Navarro and his wife Natalia of Simsbury, CT, Peter Navarro and his wife Mollie of Brooklyn, NY, and Stefanie Casey and her husband Steve of Natick, MA. Loving Nonnie to Wyatt, Olivia, Audrey, Noa and Levi. Daughter of Rita (Ambrosini) Alba and her late husband Tony and the late Charles Hendrix. Sister of Brian Hendrix and his wife Gail, Paul Alba, and Carol DaRocha and her husband Gilciney. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, and her two beloved dogs, Gabby and Stevie. She loved and deeply missed all of her pets she had throughout her lifetime, including Clover, Godiva, Gulliver, Hershey, and Gasper.
Wanda was an incredibly warm, bubbly and generous person that will be missed dearly by her family and friends, who will remember her as a passionate and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sibling and friend. She truly did everything for everyone, and life without her will be painfully different. She pursued every facet of her life with passion, including her family, friendships, dogs, and her countless hobbies, including reading, travel, history, garden club and book club. She joked that she was a “travel addict,” planning her next trip before finishing the last. Many trips to Europe revolved around visiting her Dutch family in Maastricht, where her biological father immigrated from, and where she had an extensive family. The Sturbridge community will miss her smile greeting them in Sadie Green’s Gift Shop, a job she enjoyed for over 17 years.
She was the matriarch of the Navarro family and emphasized the importance of prioritizing family time and commitment to one another. The family will continue to honor her by maintaining the close knit relationships she forged and nurtured.
Visiting hours will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home (4 Park Street, Natick, MA) on Sunday, December 15th from 3-7pm. Funeral service will be at the First Congregational Church of Natick (2 East Central Street, Natick, MA) on Monday, December 16th at 10am. Burial ceremony to follow at Dell Park Cemetery (163 Pond St., Natick, MA). Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Throughout her life, Wanda was an avid animal enthusiast and dedicated much of her time supporting several animal rescue shelters. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the animal shelter for which she cared deeply:
