Winola "Winnie" Olive (Esancy) Sinclair Obituary

Winola Olive Sinclair, 100, of Natick, passed away peacefully surrounded by some of her family on Friday, December 12, 2025.

Born in Union, Maine, on November 5, 1925, she was the beloved daughter of Burleigh and Gertrude (Wentworth) Esancy. Nola was raised on a farm that taught her the value of hard work and perseverance. Upon graduating high school she ventured to Cambridge, MA where she attended and graduated from secretarial school. It was at her first job where she met Donald (who gave her the nickname Winnie). Winnie and Donald were married in 1947 and went on to raise their family in Natick, MA.

Winola was a devoted and active member of the Fisk Memorial Church in Natick and was deeply involved with the Natick Senior Center and Natick Service Council. In recognition of her service to the community, she was honored as Natick Woman of the Year in 2008. She was an avid quilter, knitter, and a lover of puzzles and games especially Scrabble and Skipbo! However, the one thing she cherished most was time spent with her family!

Winola was the last surviving daughter of 10 and she is also predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald E. Sinclair, her children, Bernard and Barbara, and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Sinclair. Winola was the loving mother of Donna Tronec, Robert (Jill), Kenneth (Rolanne), Frank “Chip,” Stephen (Nancy), Albert (Lylabeth), Donald Jr. (Stephanie), and Lynette (Michelle). Winola was the proud, doting, and beloved grandmother to 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Elaine Sinclair and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

Visiting hours will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick Common on December 18th from 3-7. Winola’s funeral will be on Friday December 19th at 10:30 at the Fisk Memorial UMC, 106 Walnut Street, Natick. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow at Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
